Mr. Lei Shi has cultivated deep expertise in the field of intellectual property over many years, with practical experience spanning patent examination, cutting-edge technology companies, and law firms. Early in his career, he served as a patent examiner at the China National Intellectual Property Administration, where he was responsible for reviewing numerous high-value patents and conducting critical patent analyses for key industries. This role equipped him with a profound understanding of the relationship between patent systems and technological innovation.

He later transitioned to an in-house leadership role as IP Director at an artificial intelligence company, where he led the development of a global patent defense strategy covering major innovation jurisdictions. Leveraging a keen grasp of the growth patterns of tech-driven enterprises, Mr. Shi excels at aligning innovation protection with broader business strategy. He has established a “strategic foresight + tactical execution” approach to managing IP, particularly in the areas of IP strategy development and patent litigation planning.

In patent litigation, Mr. Shi approaches each case from a business-oriented perspective, analyzing complex issues through the combined lenses of technology, industry, and law.

Mr. Shi brings extensive experience in enterprise IP management, patent searching and examination, reexamination and invalidation proceedings, infringement analysis and response strategies, and open-source compliance. His practice areas include IP dispute resolution, corporate IP system development, IP operations, and open-source legal compliance. He has advised clients in industries such as artificial intelligence, computer science and the internet, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy.
